Ranking the Remaining Top Five American Idol Finalists: My Predictions

It's late April once again which means we are now only at least 4 weeks away from having another American Idol winner. The 5 American Idol 11 finalists remaining in the competition are:

Philip Phillips from Leesburg, Georgia
Joshua Ledet from Westlake, Louisiana
Jessica Sanchez from San Diego, California
Hollie Cavanagh from McKinney, Texas
Skylar Laine from Brandon, Mississippi

What we're gonna do here is we will tap some crystal balls as we try to predict who will be eliminated on each of the remaining weeks of American Idol until we get ourselves a winner.

Let us start!
Week 1
Eliminated: Hollie Cavanagh
A frequent member of the Bottom 3 during the past few weeks, we think here in Top Fives that her exit next week is highly inevitable. We even think that she's the one who should have been eliminated instead of Elise Testone during the last elimination night of American Idol 11. A good singer no doubt but a little inexperienced.
Week 2
Eliminated: Skylar Laine
Although country contestants dominated the last season of American Idol, we really believe that Skylar can only go up to the Top 4. America loves country. She's country. So Americans love her. Will have a great post-Idol career ahead of her.
Week 3
Eliminated: Philip Phillips
Sorry ladies, but your votes won't be enough to put Philip Phillips in the American Idol finale. He's really talented. He sings pretty well, he plays and most of all he connects with the audience when he performs. Let's hope this singer-songwriter could be at least as successful as Kris Allen when he finally says goodbye on Idol.
American Idol 11 Finale
Jessica Sanchez vs. Joshua Ledet

The two most vocally-sound contestants remain as Jessica Sanchez faces off Joshua Ledet in a hot finale. This will be an amazing sing-off as both contestants have already proved that they can sing anything, may it be slow, or uptempo. They deserve to be in the finale.

American Idol 11 Winner: Jessica Sanchez
Why? Although both contestants are equally talented, we believe that Jessica Sanchez will get more votes come finale time. She received America's sympathy and votes after being saved by the Judges during the first Top 7 week and may continue to do so for the next coming weeks. We will have our first female winner after four years of having male winners (David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze, Scotty Mccreery)!

Top Five FlipTop Emcees (Filipino Conference)

Have you ever heard of FlipTop? Fliptop is the first Filipino rap battle league established here in the Philippines. It started in the year 2010 and has since grew into one of the popular items in the Filipino Hip hop scene of today due to its prominence in YouTube. Most of the league's videos are slowly creeping in YouTube's most-watched lists as more and more viewers get hooked with the league's fierce and competitive rap battles. As of April 2012, videos uploaded to its official YouTube account has already garnered a total of 135 million views!

FlipTop is divided into two conferences: the Filipino Conference, which utilizes the use of Filipino language for battles and the English Conference, which utilizes the use of the English language. Some of the Filipino Conference emcees that could credit their increasing popularity among Filipinos from their exposure in Fliptop are Dello, Batas, Target, and Datu. The Filipino Conference is sub-divided into regional divisions which includes Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON and Mindanao.

FlipTop emcees offer a lot in terms of style and substance in the flows and words they use in their battles. The lyricism and the delivery of lines are highly valued in the judging of battles,  making them important factors for winning a rap battle. Basically, the main goal of the rap battlers is to bash their opponents' notions with their own bars and expletives. Here in our first ever top-five list, we want to give credit to the most skilled FlipTop emcees belonging in the Filipino Conference who have displayed their very best in every performance.

Here's our top five Fliptop (Filipino Conference) emcees:

1. KJah (2-0)
Although he only has 3 battles (his battle with Target was a promo battle) under his belt, there is no denying of KJah's lyrical prowess. It is evident that KJah's lines are carefully written and carefully thought of. His bars concerning the government and some of the most prominent figures of the country's stings in every sense while he inserts lines of advises to his opponents about the way they conduct themselves during their battles.  We simply cannot doubt his top-notch lyricism and his extraordinary flow. More exposure in FlipTop could pay dividends for this guy's career.

2. Loonie (4-0)
I am ranking Loonie as the second best Filipino Conference emcee because I'm not yet sold on the idea that he could defeat KJah if the two were pitted against each other in a battle. Loonie is arguably the most popular emcee the Fliptop has on its roster besides Dello. His delivery is solid and his lyricism is really well-constructed; a mix of personal jabs, comedic lines and generic thoughts. His battles resulted into dominating performances due to his scary demeanor and intimidating swag.

3. Batas (4-0)
Batas, known for using a lot of vulgar antics in his battles, is also one of the most popular emcees of FlipTop. His unique style of making fun of his opponents and exposing their weaknesses by the use of hard and super-degrading insults together with his powerful voice can't be matched by others in the league. He's the one who made the "nanay" jokes popular in FlipTop. He also has this skill of molding a round of rap battle into a well-told story through carefully knitted lines. Recently he has incorporated the use of metaphors in his battles which could help a lot in boosting his status as one of the top-notch emcees of FlipTop, especially if he wants to protect his undefeated record from other top-notch emcees.

4. Dello (6-2)
Dello, one of the most experienced battlers in FlipTop, is considered the "master of rebuttals" in the league. He has the knack to absorb the lines of his opponents and counter-attack using them. He also has this special skill of getting the crowd unto his side which could largely be attributed to his charm and the way he represents himself in his battles. Although some of the lines that he has used in his battles are shallow, most of them have high comedic value which attracts a lot of fans.

5. Target (5-1)
The leader of DC Clan, he has quickly emerged as one of the well-known emcees of Fliptop due to his good performances in his first set of battles. His skill of adaptability which he displayed in a promo battle against KJah says a lot about this guy's experience in rap-battling. During his early days in FlipTop, Target was a part of the "comedic movement" wherein the use of funny and goofy lines were heavy utilized but he has already changed his style to a more serious one which is in favor of deeper bars and metaphors that make a lot of sense.
